About Me

My name is Ashleigh and I am 15 years old. I started Coloring Through Cancer to raise awareness of childhood cancer while bringing joy to those who are impacted by it. Having watched my mom battle through 20 weeks of dose-dense chemotherapy, I know how long and grueling the process can be. It is difficult to find things to pass the time when you are sitting there for 4, 6, or even 8 hours during an infusion. Imagine being a child and having to go through this process! Will you join me in bringing joy to children who are battling this terrible disease while bringing awareness to childhood cancer?

Together, we can make a difference.

Childhood Cancer Statistics

Did you know that childhood cancer is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 14?

  • Each year in the U.S. an estimated 15,780 children aged 0 to nineteen are diagnosed with cancer.
  • One out of 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer before their 20th birthday.
  • Globally, more than 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year.
  • 20% of children with cancer in the U.S. will not survive it.
  • Every 3 minutes a family hears the devastating words that their child has been diagnosed with cancer.
  • Cancer remains the number one cause of death by disease for children in America.

Bringing Joy

The goal of my organization, Coloring Through Cancer, is to raise awareness of childhood cancer while providing care packages for children that are going through chemotherapy. Chemotherapy can be a long and grueling process and I hope that providing them with crayons or colored pencils, and activity books, will help them pass the time and put a smile on their face.

How to Help

I am accepting donations of the following items:

New colored pencils

New crayons

New markers

Used crayons*

Coloring or activity books for kids and teens

Notes of encouragement

I will assemble the care packages with a note of encouragement and drop them off at our local children's hospital for their cancer patients.

*Used crayons will be melted down into a multi-colored heart shape for each patient
